Asbury is a welcoming family-oriented church that loves to worship God through preaching, singing, joys and prayer. Please read through some common questions below about our church. We hope that you will find yourself and your family comfortable here and immerse yourself in all that Jesus has to offer.
What is it like?
Asbury has a Sunday School for all ages that begins at 10am each Sunday morning. Each class is based on bible teachings and is taught by a member of the church.
Worship Service begins at 11am. Service is traditional with a choir and pianist who enjoy adding music to our worship service. The piano and organ are used to accompany congregational singing. You can participate in the service as much or as little as you would like. There is a Children's Time when all the kids come forward to the altar for a special moment in teaching just for them, this is followed by a children's prayer at the altar. There is a time of joys and concerns where attendees can share what they would like with the congregation. This is also followed by a time of prayer. During this time you can also come to the altar and kneel during prayer if you would like. There is always scripture and then a sermon based on the shared scripture.
What about my kids?
Kids are welcome at all services. There is a special Children's Time during worship service, see question above. There is a nursery in the back if you need to step out with your child, but we encourage kids to be a part of the worship service.
Where do I park?
Asbury has a large paved parking lot with a few handicap parking spaces as well as spaces close to the entrance of the sanctuary. You may park in any parking spot you would like.
What do I wear?
We do not require you to dress up. Please dress how you feel comforable. Jeans and tee shirts are perfectly fine as well as full Sunday attire.
How can I get connected?
If you would like to check out the worship service online first, please visit our Facebook page. Most every Sunday the worship service is live and can be found on Facebook at Asbury UMC - Chatham Co, NC.

We love to fellowship at Asbury. There are many opportunites to do so including Methodist Men's Breakfast, VBS and other children's events, special lunches and during service projects below.
We have multiple opportunities for you to be the hands and feet of Jesus and serve those in the community. These include donating food for CORA and The Salvation Army, cooking breakfast and making bag lunches for the Salvation Army, donating items or working the Community Closet Giveaway, participating in the Operation Christmas Child Shoebox ministry.
